Marks Engineering is a small, tight-knit civil engineering, land surveying and landscape architecture firm proudly rooted in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Unlike larger firms, we believe in giving our engineers the chance to wear many hats: you'll handle everything from design to project management to direct client interaction. At Marks Engineering, you'll see projects through from inception to execution, not just small pieces of the puzzle.

What You'll Do

As a Licensed Civil Engineer, you will work closely with our team on a variety of rewarding and challenging projects, including:

Municipal Stormwater Systems – improving local infrastructure
Residential Site Planning – shaping neighborhoods
Small to Medium Commercial Site Planning – helping local businesses grow
Onsite Wastewater System Designs – protecting the environment through smart design

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead design and engineering for projects from initial concepts through final execution.
  • Manage client relationships and maintain excellent communication.
  • Coordinate with contractors, municipal officials, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Navigate permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend Planning Board and Zoning Board meetings for the projects you are assigned.

What We're Looking For

PE License Required: Candidates must hold an active PE license in NY; EIT certification does not meet the requirement.

  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering (municipal, residential, or commercial site design preferred).
  • Strong understanding of stormwater management, grading, drainage, and wastewater systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Passion for community-focused engineering in the Finger Lakes region.
